3 Cleaning Tips For Melty Summer Snacks

THURSDAY, JUNE 20, 2019

Summer is the time for popsicles, watermelon, and ice cream. What do these all have in common? Well, they are delicious and they melt! Melting treats get everywhere and stain carpet and upholstery easily. This summer prevent the stains and spills with these tips.

To prevent drips, and subsequent stains, cut a slit into a cupcake liner and slide the liner on the bottom half of the popsicle stick. That way when it melts the pool of popsicle juice stays in the little cupcake liner.

Rather than cutting it in triangles that smear all over checks, cut the watermelon in long strips. Do this by cutting it in half and then laying it on the flat surface. You will only see the rind at this point. Afterward, simply cut in a grid pattern and pull apart as watermelon sticks. If you absolutely love your triangle shaped watermelon, just put a stick into the watermelon rind and serve.

Having a section in your kitchen that has a wet rag or a spot to put the melting items will help kids create cleanly habits. Aside from the kitchen sending kids outside with snacks is always an easy way to avoid them getting melted snacks on carpet and couches.
